"This is part of a great continuing education sequence that has allowed my practice to expand into this area of dentistry. I am confident in what I learned and have used it to help me move into this exciting field. What a great facility and fine venue."

Dr. Darren Fee
Edmonton, Alberta

"I was really afraid to do ridge augmentation, especially chin (grafting) but now after this course, I have the confidence and the ability to do it because it built and gave me all the information that I need."

Dr. Mohammed Milyani
Jeddah, Saudia Arabia

"This hands on implant program has allowed a more comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning resulting in an ability to render great implant placement and successful prosthetics. It was superb. The information and technical approach was factually based for success all the while "staying safe". The ultimate success is the patient benefits. Great."

H.O.T tip of the month...
from the desks of Drs. Hebel & Gajjar

Beware of Dogma!

Maxillary or Mandibular? That is the question!

When reconstructing the dentition, should you start with the maxillary arch or the mandibular arch? There are two philosophies out there and like everything else, these philosophies become the topic of some significant controversy. Some individuals really believe that their way is the only way . . .

In our practice, we start our reconstructions with the mandibular arch, using anterior point and retromolar pads to first establish the plane of occlusion. Then we establish the maxillary arch using esthetic guidelines, vertical dimension and occlusal relationships. If you start with the mandibular arch, the maxillary arch always gets addressed because of esthetic considerations. This however, is not the only way to do a reconstruction. You can start with the maxillary arch, but in doing so, many people focus on the maxillary anterior 6 teeth and the rest of the arch is forgotten.

One of Dr. Hebel’s favorite sayings is “There’s more than one way to heaven. Just find a good one!” The same goes for dental reconstructions. There is more than one way to treatment plan and execute a reconstruction.

The bottom line is . . . BE CONSISTENT. Regardless of the philosophy you believe, it is important to use a technique that works in your hands, and follow the same guidelines every time. Consistency leads to success.

And if someone tells you that their way is the only way . . . BEWARE!!

Mentorship Program

Our mentorship program was a huge success!!

We performed 12 surgeries, mostly sinus elevations, with some implant placements and autogenous grafts – all performed by the participants, with the mentorship of Dr. Hebel.

Check out the testimonials of those that attended.

Our next program is in March. So get signed up with a patient and take your surgical skills to the next level.

Patient Education

Educating your patients is the most effective way to increase treatment acceptance within your practice.

If patients don’t know, they can’t say yes!

In our practice, we found that providing patients with printed handouts made a significant difference with case acceptance. (That’s why we developed Click & Print Patient Education!)

Regardless of the system you use for patient education, make sure that it provides the patient with the following

  • take home information they can share with their families
  • a summary of their treatment options
  • fees related to their options
  • enough information about each option to allow them to make their decision
  • the option that you recommend

It is important to provide your patients with options, but to also let them know which option you feel would be best for them. This will provide them with some guidance and help them make their decision.

So get out there and educate your patients, and see what a difference it makes!

Leasing Program

The leasing program is so good – it's almost too good to be true!!

Here are some common questions about the Nobel Biocare and Hands On Training Institute cooperative leasing program . . .

How does the leasing program work?
The basic leasing package includes all the equipment needed to start doing implant surgery in your practice – the Nobel Biocare surgical set up, along with 20 implants and Sessions 1 & 2 of implant training at the Hands On Training Institute.

What does the basic leasing package cost?
About $470.00 CDN a month.

Can I lease other items?
In your lease, you can include other equipment from Nobel Biocare. You can also include other training sessions as well as the Click & Print Patient Education software package. The monthly cost is adjusted accordingly.

What are the advantages of leasing?
By leasing the equipment, implants and education, you can become involved in implant dentistry without large upfront expenses.

Did you say I can make money with this program?
By placing even one implant a month, you can generate enough income to cover the cost of the lease and generate a profit of approximately $1900.00 CDN.

The leasing program is becoming a very popular way for dentists to become involved in implant dentistry. Click here to download a PDF file for more details, or contact your local Nobel Biocare representative.

It really is too good to pass up!
